Bangkok has a golf course for every skill level, from seasoned players searching for their next major challenge to casual players looking for a fun day on the greens.

As we enter the center of this game’s paradise, discover the courses that make this city an essential travel destination for digital nomads and golf enthusiasts.

1. Amata Spring Country Club

Amata Spring Country Club is one of the top golf courses in Bangkok.

It is conveniently located between Bangkok and Pattaya. It was designed by the legendary architects Schmidt and Curley in 2005.

The golf club’s fairways are long and undulating, and several water hazards surround the course.

Several holes have been routed around the two lakes’ water, which dominates the course. Many professional tournaments have been played at Amata.

I had my best golf play here. The caddies are professional and friendly. And I am really impressed at how well they know the sport.

My only gripe is that the course is closed on Sundays.

2. Royal Bang Pa-In Golf Club

The Royal Bang Pa-In golf course was designed by the legendary Schmidt-Curley Design Inc., which has won several awards for its golf courses in Asia.

The Golf Club has considerable elevation changes. There is approximately a difference of seven meters between the lowest and highest points.

The golf course is best suited for experienced players as it has prominent elevation changes that require sound strategy.

The greens are undulating and very quick. Plenty of consideration is required on the approaching front.

Every time I visit this place, I notice many Korean golf players who frequent the Royal Bang Pa-In. So, if you want to diversify your connections, be it a business network or circle of friends, this is a good place to be.

3. Thai Country Club

The Thai Country Club has world-class facilities, professional caddies, and an exciting variety of holes. It is a popular choice for pro golfers’ seeking overall fantastic golfing experience.

It is a challenging course that requires good skills and experience. My tip: Wayward shots can often be recovered with a shot out of the scrub.

Experienced golfers looking for the complete package often state Thai Country Club as the #1 course in Thailand.

It is a perfect example of a typical tropical golf course. The hazards are very attractive but very difficult to manage.

Water features are lining the golf course, ringed by palm trees and gently undulating landscapes.

There is a clubhouse here that serves a daily buffet and lunch.

4. Lam Luk Ka Country Club

Lam Luk Ka Country Club is another popular tropical golf course in Bangkok. It is conveniently located an hour’s drive from Bangkok, and caters to both amateur and professional players.

It has two complete 18-hole courses, making for an unforgettable round of distinctly Thai golf. The trees provide relieving shade.

The West Course is ideal for beginners as it has wider fairways that offer a more modest challenge.

The golf course is built on wetlands and features many tropical species of plants and animals.

Honestly, it is one of the most relaxing courses in Bangkok. If you want to swing and chill, this is a great place to visit.

5. Summit Windmill Golf Club

The Summit Windmill Golf Club is very popular because of its proximity to the airport. It is only 30 minutes away from Bangkok’s city center.

Quick golf during a layover? Sure, that’s very possible here!

That’s what I exactly did when I had a 10-hour layover in Bangkok. It gave me enough time to play two games, and I spent the rest of my free time chatting with their friendly caddies.

The golf club has excellent facilities with top-class maintenance. Water hazards are present from the first to the last hole of the course.

It also offers night golfing facilities.

The course clubhouse is considered one of the best in Bangkok due to its scenic views, which are perfect for a post-round snack.

The golf course was designed by the English pro golfer Nick Faldo. It is dominated by greenside bunkers.

6. Subhapruek Golf Club

The Subhapreuk Golf Club in Bangkok is a reasonably flat golf course. The entire course is lined by palm trees, making the place pleasantly breezy and cool.

It is well suited for beginners and amateur golf players as the holes are typically shorter than other top-end courses.

There is a water feature around the par-3 goal, which can be tricky. It also has an excellent driving range and island targets surrounded by water.

The golf course is especially famous among corporate crowds and tends to get very busy on the weekends.

7. Thana City Golf & Country Club

The Thana City Golf and Country Club is 25 minutes from downtown Bangkok. It was designed by the legendary Australian golfer Greg Norman.

At the Thana Golf Course, several long holes are challenging without a trusty fairway wood or punchy iron.

It is a tricky course best suited for professional golfers. The approach shots are the most difficult since hazards on every hole guard all greens.

Some lakes and streams dissect the course from places.

I haven’t mastered this course yet. So, I shall return to this place soon and face the challenge.

8. The Royal Gems Golf City

The Royal Gems Golf City is a unique replica golf course located very close to Bangkok’s center.

It allows golfers to realize their dreams of playing on some of the world’s most iconic holes.

The golf course also features an entire back nine modeled on Augusta.

Water and sand hazards are abundant, making the course reasonably challenging. I would not recommend the Royal Gems Golf City course to beginners.

Caddies are available here to help professional golfers with a cold drink in the impressive clubhouse.

9. Suwan Golf & Country Club

The Suwan Golf and Country Club has one of the best layouts in Bangkok. It was established in 2005 and has gained considerable traction since then.

The course spans an area of 7,100 yards. It offers the golfers a dramatic, sloping green and a hilly layout throughout.

Water plays on most holes, mandating a long and straight drive. The club also has a 300-yard driving range.

Additionally, it has a clubhouse, a modern locker room, rain showers, Japanese-styled baths, a Jacuzzi, and a Thai restaurant overlooking the 9th hole.

10. Nikanti Golf Club

The Nikanti Golf Course is one of the newest recently opened. It is the only all-inclusive golf course in Thailand.

The fee includes all the services, including meals served before and after each round, soft drinks, and caddie tips.

It offers really great value for your money and time. You enjoy the game, the food, and the company of newfound friends.

Prominent elevation changes and heavily contoured greens make the course challenging.

There is a 15-minute tee time to maintain the good pace of the play. The golf course is just an hour’s distance from Bangkok.

11. Muang Kaew Golf Course

The Muang Kaew Golf Course is located very close to Bangkok city.

The challenging 18-hole course is popular because of its elevated greens, broad and receptive fairways, high-lipped bunkers, and shaved fringes. All these features make the golf course very challenging.

There are good options for non-professional players as well.

A significant portion of the courses have flat fairways, which other golfers might find less appealing. Also, golf carts are optional here since the course is mostly leveled.

There is an on-site restaurant that serves some of the best Thai food in Bangkok.

12. Cascata Gold Club, Bangkok

The Cascata Golf Club offers a unique experience in a city already renowned for its exceptional golfing destinations.

Constructed on a site formerly occupied by rice paddies, this club preserves the spirit of its heritage while transforming the traditional Thai scenery into a golfer’s paradise.

In 2004, the Cascata Golf Club course was expertly created by Dr. Thanawat Saprungrueng and his associates. It used the environment’s natural features to its advantage to design a difficult golf course.

The designers aimed to create a “tropical golf experience” that was distinct in its approach. They integrated water features throughout to enhance the beauty and challenge of the game.

13. Lakewood Country Club, Bangkok

The Lakewood Country Club is a rustic parkland-style golf course with three classes: Rock, Lake, and Wood.

This world-class 27-hole golf course was designed by Michael J. Poellet (USA).

It is home to over 50 species of beautiful plants, trees, and other flora and fauna. More than 5,000 trees line the fairways.

The golf course is clean, well maintained throughout the year, and has excellent drainage, making it a good choice for any season.

14. Navatanee Golf Course

Designed for the 23rd World Cup of Golf, the Navatanee Golf Course is a prominent location that opened in 1973.

Robert Trent Jones Jr., a well-known architect, created the 6,902-yard, par 72 course.

It is renowned for its strategic layout, which makes players consider their options on every hole. One of the most notable holes is the par-4 sixth. It calls for a difficult approach to a well-defended green after a tee shot across water to a small fairway.

As one might anticipate from a facility of this kind, the clubhouse and amenities at Navatanee are sophisticated and well-equipped to meet every demand. Everything, including the dining options and locker rooms, is made to provide guests with comfort and elegance.

15. The Royal Bangkok Sports Club (RBSC)

Situated in the center of Bangkok, the Royal Bangkok Sports Club (RBSC) is a distinguished multi-use sports and recreation facility.

Having been founded in 1901, it has grown to represent exclusivity and legacy while providing amenities for golf, horse racing, tennis, squash, and other sports.

The 18-hole golf course at the RBSC offers its members a demanding but pleasurable experience.

The club, which offers a mix of sports, leisure, and social activities in a wealthy environment, is a well-known meeting spot for Thailand’s elite, thanks to its rich history and dedication to sporting achievement.

Royal Bangkok Sports Club is the best place to go if you have more free time. In addition to golfing, there are plenty of other sports you can enjoy.

I often choose this place if I am with new acquaintances, as it does not limit our activities. That means there is plenty of chance for you to impress your prospective clients, right?
